West Elementary School was originally built in 1980. In 2005, it received a total renovation and an extensive addition
Students at West continue to develop their reading, writing and problem solving skills. A "reading to learn" emphasis begins in the intermediate elementary grades which gives students the tools to comprehend content in core subjects such as Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. West students have the same opportunity to learn with support teachers as Central students, with the exception the fifth grade students may choose either Vocal Music or Instrumental Music. Students may also participate in a variety of after school clubs and activities.
